Android i download photos and they have exclamation mark

I can see the older ones fine. Also all my photos that I moved to my sd card are greyed out with exclamation mark. How can I fix this please. Not sure if this will help, but I had a similar problem.

I tried to delete a couple of photos, and my phone said 'Cannot move item to trash. Try again. I had been using Google Editor right before all this happened, and had deleted the original pics in that app, after the 'altered' copies were made. They disappeared from Google Editor. However, when I went back into Gallery, they were still there, and so I tried to delete them from there, and that's when I got the message.

After, deleting the cache for Gallery and rebooting my phone, the pics in Gallery, that I had deleted in Google Editor, were greyed out, with the Explanation Mark. So, I went back and did a delete Data on the Gallery app not sure if this was necessary , and rebooted my phone again. The blank images were still there and unable to be deleted. So, I went back into Google Editor, and click on the menu button in the upper left, and clicked on Trash.
